Opportunities for Functional skills:
Creative Media:
English - when carrying out presentations in class I have needed to use proper communication skills to ensure that what I am doing is seen and heard in the light it was intended to be. I had to project my voice also so that what I was saying could be heard by every person in the room.
Maths - I've used maths in many differing ways throughout this years media course, the main way being when ensuring that time deadlines were met, this was done by producing storyboards and planning every single shot and how long it would take, this was especially useful during our 'Depict' 90 second short as to tell the story properly we needed to make use of most of the time to tell the story, but if we went over then our entry would be ineligible. We also used Maths when budgeting for our pieces to make sure we had the right props.
ICT - We had to use ICT in Media this year basically every single lesson, our blogs are created through ICT, so are our videos and finished shorts as we have to edit them on software which is new to us, so ensuring that our basic ICT skills were pushed forward this year was integral.
